Best way to stop smoking
By Mr D Stevens

Unfortunately there has been several deaths, and several thousand infections from the H1N1

virus (more commonly known as the Swine flu virus), the world's most recently declared pandemic by the WHO(World Health Organisation).
As with any flu what makes this virus easily transferred is via passive means,
inhaling the germs from a cough, or a sneeze from an infeted individual is
enough to initiate infection.
Even breathing in fumes from others albeit regarded differently for so long, can in the long run
prove even more dangerous, it is a well known fact that passive smoking is just
as effective as if the individual inhaled the nicotine directly from a cigarette
themselves.
With governments around the world struggling to pass information about how the H1N1 is being passed and how it may be prevented, governments around the world especially in
Europe have started a national scheme where smoking is no longer allowed in
public venues and buildings. Scotland was one of the first countries in Europe
to initiate this banning of smoking from all pubs and public buildings.

This it initiated in 2006, soon after MP's(Member of Parliament) in England
voted to equally ban smoking in public places, in a concerted effort to improve
public health.

There was expected protests from pub owners, regarding this stop smoking
campaign, and other public venues where smoking was previously allowed complained that a
large percentage of their customer base would be driven away if smoking was no
longer being allowed on the premises, and sure enough their customer base did
decline, for a while, but there is evidence now that these venues are thriving
once more, with a healthier atmosphere, new customer bases have been formed, as
many who would have been put off with going to a venue where they may be subject
to passive smoking can now freely attend such a venue without having to worry
about second hand smoke.

This new legislation has made it paramount for smokers to quit smoking and to find an easy way to stop smoking, which with viruses like the H1N1 strain can only increase the pressure of being passively safe. Along with
nicotine patches and nicotene gums there are several available techniques,
schemes and methods out there to help be smoke free, healthy, and back to a
fantastic standard of living.
